Well, well, well if it isn’t the annual “wellness” issue.

January marks the beginning of not only a new year but also the beginning of a new you. Maybe you’ve set some goals for yourself, like the classics—exercise more, eat better—or you’d like to get more involved with a non-profit or learn something new.

Whatever influences you going into the new year, we hope the people, places, stories and tips in this issue will be part of that kickoff.

And while diet and exercise are vital to wellness, overall wellness includes the health of others as well. Which is why one of this month’s feature is about the ‘renegade lunch lady’ Chef Ann Cooper. Did you know she’s successfully bringing healthy lunches across the U.S.? And it started right here—in Colorado.

We also asked local experts AILLEA’s Kathryn Murray Dickinson, MoonDance Botanicals’ Candice McClay and Olde Crone’s Bewitching Bath Soap’s Amy Kalinchuk about the importance of not only caring what you put in your body but also on it. Naturally, big companies are abusing the terms “natural” and “organic.” It’s essential for your overall health to know what is in your ritual beauty products—especially considering skin is the body’s largest organ.

We hope you enjoy another issue and another year. Have a happy one at that!

Best,

Dana
