The Artisan Shop Shares A New Build That Preserves History with Taste,
Walking through this new home build in Cherry Creek, guests are transported to many locales. From a Tuscan villa to a café patio, a kitchen to make French chefs swoon to a cozy, speakeasy-esque wet bar, it’s a home that blends vintage grandeur with an intimate, inviting feel. This juxtaposition of the expansive and the cozy is a challenge that The Artisan Shop, a full-service local design/build/install firm, was more than up for.
“The vision for this project was to blend the interior with the classic look of the exterior in tribute to the surrounding neighborhood, which includes many historic homes,” says Jeff Stone, EVP/Owner at The Artisan Shop.
With historic class throughout, each room has its own character that blends cohesively into the overall style of the home.
“The home covers quite a bit of square footage,” says the homeowner, “but it’s still really comfortable and welcoming.”
A home to both live and entertain in; it’s a structure full of artfulness. From the collection of art on the walls to the stonework of the foyer archway, the bold light fixtures to the intricacies of the finishes throughout, each room oozes with vintage style and the personality and taste of the homeowner.
It’s likewise an example in open yet intimate entertaining spaces. The downstairs includes a bar and lounge area, while the main floor dining room has an airy, European villa air. One of Artisan designer Christian’s favorite features is the hidden elevator adjacent to the Great Room that transports guests to the cozy wet bar on the top floor perfect for a quiet nightcap.
Perhaps the home’s most signature area is its main level kitchen. According to Stone, making a statement with elements in the kitchen was a priority for the homeowner.
“The enormous range wall hood surround includes raised panel details, a two-step crown molding, and a custom mantelpiece,” says Matt Olivas, Artisan Design Manager. “The painted and glazed finish of the cabinetry makes a grand statement and is set apart from the rest of the kitchen.”
Featuring two long islands with custom lathe-turned furniture legs, the kitchen exhibits a warm balance of dark wood cabinetry and bright natural light. Even the Butler Pantry, lined with two-sided glass cabinets over a window, allows plenty of sunlight.
